Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Viv Guy founder at The Clarity Coach.

What's your business and who are your customers?

I’m Viv aka ‘The Clarity coach’.

I’m a business coach passionate about helping mums in business create consistent £5k+ months, all in just 20 hours a week around their families.

I want every mum in business to start LIVING their life and business in a way that works for them on THEIR terms, right now?!

Are you starting each month, week and day with great intentions? Writing out epic to-do list, only finding that by the second side of that A4 sheet of paper you don’t know where to start….so you:

A) Get ‘busy’ doing and working through your list but realise you never feel like you’re achieving and progressing because you still haven’t booked consistent clients and end the day feeling guilty and crap?

or B) Browse social media and the internet to look for the hidden clues of how other people have successfully created their six and seven figure businesses and download yet another free guide, quiz or checklist then wonder how the hell you’re supposed to find the time to add in yet another new ‘must do’ (allegedly) for your business?

Whichever camp you fall into, I get it.

You’re trying to run a business in under 5 hours a day or 20 hours a week while the kids are at school or nursery whilst running a house and managing everyone else's lives at the same time.

The noise from the digital world and all those experts out there is telling you all the things you MUST, SHOULD & HAVE to do in order to be successful, and you’re wondering when the hell you’re supposed to actually find any time to do any of that, let along client-facing work, let alone run your home, parent your kids and be the partner or wife you want to be.

If this is you then we need to talk!

I’m here to help you to grow your business and design a life that gets you leaping out of bed in a morning rather than starting the day with dread and anxiety.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a born entrepreneur. Setting up my first award winning business from scratch at the age of 22 and growing it to a turnover of £1.5 million a year (yep, I was “clueless but determined and relentless!”), I have learnt what it is to grow a successful and profitable business from scratch, not once ...but three times.

My continued doggedly determination is now focused towards helping service-based business owners to get consistent clients and build their businesses in a totally feel good, ‘aligned’ way whilst working just 20 hours a week.

I am passionate about entrepreneurs creating businesses and lives that feel great through working in a totally aligned way.

All my talks centre around this key area of the 'feel good focus' we are all too often missing in the hustle of life as an entrepreneur (especially in those first few years).

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I grew my first company and its profits every year throughout and after the 2008 recession, sold out my client spots for a year in just 1 month for my brand photography business during the global pandemic and started a new business during the same pandemic!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I know that setting up and growing a business as a mum, wife/partner and all-round superwoman is TOUGH.

I set up my first award-winning business at the age of 22 and grew it to a profitable business with a turnover of £1.5 million a year. But back there I would happily work 80 hour weeks.

Two kids and another business later and I hit the 20-hour workweek hurdle wondering how’s this even going to be possible? And for a time it wasn’t… my marriage hit the rocks, I had eternal MUM GUILT as I was always on my phone ‘researching’… you know the one right?!

My ‘research’ involved downloading everything that would get me consistent clients, looking at everyone else and comparing myself and as a result feeding my impostor syndrome and feeling like a failure.

I learnt that drowning in the constant noise of all the ‘shoulds, musts, haves and need too’ to grow a successful business and be a ‘model’ mum and partner and finding yourself pretty underwhelmed by life doesn’t need to be your REALITY.

What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find what is in alignment to you to maximise your productivity, increase your revenue and give you more freedom.
  2. Be unashamedly you.
  3. Nail the 3 C's: Clarity, consistency & connection.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

I try new things and do things differently because they feel in integrity, I encourage my clients to find what feels good to them so they are energetically aligned to support their journey to success.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance?

Create boundaries and stick to them. Working 20 hours weeks.
