What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hello Drinks is Australia's largest cloud-based online liquor store, delivering thousands of drinks to customers across the Country.

Tell us about yourself

Started in 2016 with 12 products, we launched out of a local storage facility, with a unit the size of a small bathroom today; we host approx 4000 products on our site, which we manage in the cloud. We love a challenge and get a kick by disrupting traditional models with innovative tech systems that allow us to scale the business. We are a bootstrapped startup, so it would be interesting to bring an investor in to unlock some more of our ideas to bring this business up another few levels.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The growth in the business on the back of hard work, with a solid strategic plan, has been our biggest accomplishment, watching it grow year on year to becoming a consistent 7 figure business. The next goal is to get to $10m in revenue per year.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Work-Life balance is key, don't forget those closest to you, as without them, your business would not be where it is. Take time out from time to time to recharge the batteries, take a morning away from the laptop, etc., use it to gather your thoughts, go for some regular exercise.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Know the industry you are entering, study your competitors, both big & small, and have an angle where you can outgrow them or have something that they will want later on.
