What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a sweet dream that came from Elena Soler, who founded Helena Chocolatier in Ica, Peru, back in 1975. Our chocolates are beautiful and scrumptious.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Peru and US citizen who migrated to this beautiful and generous country to import my mother´s fine confection upon my graduation from Florida International University.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To serve my chocolates in American Airlines first class for 18 consecutive years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The extreme work one puts in trying to get ahead being small.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Control fixed costs, have a great product, and provide the best customer service possible.
