Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kourtney Koenitzer, Owner of Heal with Kourtney, located in St. Thomas, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Heal with Kourtney offers a unique healing experience that involves Reiki, Meditation, Yoga, Sound Healing, Crystals, Community, and more. Individuals seeking support with healing and growth with an openness to expansive concepts are the typical clients at Heal with Kourtney.

Tell us about yourself

Heal with Kourtney as a business started in November 2021; however, the foundation for the business had been developing for many years prior through a passion for growth and expansion. The business encompasses many modalities that have been utilized for my own healing journey, and it brings great joy to share this with others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment at this moment would be taking the initial leap to start this business and watching it grow into what it is today and continue to grow.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

A leap of faith. One of the largest hurdles I had to face was having faith and patience when it did not seem goals were being accomplished in the desired timing. Especially with starting out, the leap of just starting a business was uncharted territory.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do something you enjoy - When the purpose of your business or project is something meaningful to you, other tasks that may not be as enjoyable, i.e., accounting, are easier to complete because you are nourishing your passion.
  2. Balance! - Between taking action and allowing something to bloom. Taking action is, of course, important to accomplish goals, however, time is needed for those actions to yield fruit. Alternatively, too much waiting may not always lead to anything if you are not taking action toward your goals.
  3. Keep showing up - Show up for yourself, especially when starting something new. Set a consistent time per week or per day where you focus on the new project or venture and keep showing up even if no one else does.
