What's your business, and who are your customers?

We organize and facilitate peer groups within the roofing industry. We bring non-competing contractors together of similar size and focus on working on common problems, sharing best practices, and helping each other get better. We also help commercial roofing contractors grow their service departments.

I am motivated to help those with whom I work to find and then implement better, smarter, more innovative ways to work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Staying fresh and not getting stale. I do not let the inertia of "life" keep me from growing.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Working on the business rather than in the business. It is too easy to get trapped in the weeds.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.
  2. Culture is more important than skills.
  3. Know your numbers.
