What's your business, and who are your customers?
Harper Therapy is a mental health practice in Tampa, Florida, that specializes in helping people heal from trauma and the way that trauma impacts their romantic relationships and their family. We train with the leading experts in the field to provide cutting-edge, highly effective, and HEALING service to our clients and community.
Tell us about yourself
I became a trauma therapist after growing up in a chaotic, violent home where there was unresolved trauma. I opened my own practice after working in environments that did not provide the highest and best services to clients. I knew there had to be a better way to help people heal with quality and respect, so I crafted that.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In addition to the impact that we've made on our community and our reputation for healing, I'm that my TEDx Talk has helped people know that there is healing available to them and that they're not doomed to a life of coping with trauma, but a life of post-traumatic growth.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think the thing that has surprised me the most is that my business has been the grounds for so much of my personal, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational growth.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
