What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Pilates Intuitive Healer, Spiritual Life Coach, Author, and Teacher/Facilitator of 'A Course In Miracles.' My clients are usually recovering perfectionists, usually women aged 30-60 years old, that are looking to Heal their Minds, Body, and Spirits via Aligning with Love vs. preconceived judgment. They are open to an integrative approach and willing to be a part of their Self-Healing rather than apart from it.
Tell us about yourself
Pilates and Practical Spirituality both found me after I was in a serious car accident. Pain can be a major motivator, and it sure was for me. Feeling injured on every level left me searching for new ways to Heal my pain and PTSD.
A severe shoulder injury led to me trying Pilates. From the first session, I felt calmer and more freedom of movement. After a year of private sessions and regaining full use of my shoulder, not to mention feeling stronger inside and out than ever before, I chose to pursue my natural curiosity about Healing the whole body by becoming Certified as a Pilates and Movement Medicine Instructor, specializing in using Pilates as post-rehabilitation for injuries and chronic issues.
I Know Pilates Heals firsthand and hope to share that possibility with everyone that crosses my path. At the same time, I practiced Pilates to heal my physical body; I discovered journaling and 'A Course In Miracles' to help me Heal Emotionally and Spiritually. I also received a graduate degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution.
A daily practice of Pilates plus Practical Spirituality helped me to Heal on every level beyond any other Healing modalities that I had tried prior. My experiences inspired me to create my newest business, 'Happily Ever Living,' and to author my first book, 'Happily Ever Now,' to inspire others to find whatever forms of Self-Healing speak to them at the highest level. Happily Ever Living means choosing NOW as the 'right' time to begin your Self-Healing Journey, rather than endlessly waiting for the 'perfect' time.
Happily Ever Living empowers you to make your perfectly imperfect Self-Healing journey reflect possibilities rather than limitations and to always invite Kindness and Curiosity as the lens you perceive those possibilities instead of judgment or comparison. I provide private and group online sessions as well as private in-person sessions in Pilates and/or Spiritual Life Coaching. I also co-teach weekly ACIM topics via the Clubhouse Social Media platform.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Since beginning my career and creating my first Pilates business in 2005, I've received over 1000 private clients all over the world.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The possibility of working 24/7, losing perspective of being balanced, and letting your business become your identity rather than an extension of You.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be willing to make space for the 'how' things unfold along every step of your journey.
- Ask others to share their experiences from starting similarly aligned businesses.
- Know who and what you are, REALLY, not what others have said that you should be.
