Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hanneke Antonelli, Best-Selling Author & Award-Winning Certified Coach based in Stoneham, MA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help multiple-six and seven-figure service-based entrepreneurs to create and implement tailored and out-of-the-ordinary business strategies that help them increase profits, freedom, and team satisfaction. They hire me as their business coach but get way more than just that. When clients work with me, they also get a consultant, brainstormer, tough-love buddy, wing woman, confidant, soundboard, partner-in-crime, and accountability partner! Clients move from feeling isolated, stuck, and overwhelmed to confident, joyful, and loving their business again with me by their side. Through our co-creative sessions, my clients become bold leaders who manage their teams with ease and grace, and from here, they can scale up faster in creative ways that fuel their passion.

Tell us about yourself

After being stuck in a Wall Street career that wasn't sparking anything but frustration and anger, I started my first business by accident. I worked with a coach back then and experienced all the life-changing benefits. After building my first business to award-winning status in record time, I realized that I wanted to give back the gift of coaching. Coaching has not just helped me to pivot and start over from scratch in two countries, but it also helped me overcome depression. I had noticed just how lonely and challenging the entrepreneurial journey was. I wanted to ensure that business owners had the support they needed and deserved to thrive! That's what motivates me every day: to ensure that my clients know that they are not alone. They are fully supported at any given moment.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One accomplishment that I'm very proud of is building two award-winning businesses in just five years in a foreign country. And the other is writing a best-selling book, The Up Level Project: Your Guide to Unlocking Higher Profits While Creating More Freedom, in my second language.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing yourself and your team. And I'd also say trusting your gut and ensuring your decision-making process comes from certainty vs. fear.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. When you start: make sure you have a profitable business idea that's also scalable.
  2. When running your business: hire and delegate everything that's not in your wheelhouse/you're not good at.
  3. As your business and team grow, it's essential to do leadership/personal development.
