Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & nutrition but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hannah Aylward, Founder of HAN-Hannah Aylward Nutrition, located in Orlando, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

HAN is a digital health company helping women worldwide overcome chronic digestive issues through powerful nutrition, functional labs, and lifestyle changes.

Our customers are women who have been experiencing digestive issues, like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, food sensitivities, and indigestion, for years without proper help. They are left with nowhere to turn and feel like they have tried it all until they find us.

Tell us about yourself

This business was built out of the desire to help women overcome chronic health issues that I dealt with but had no one to help me through. I want to change the face and model of healthcare and help people realize their highest potential. People who have been suffering for years, with their day-to-day lives negatively impacted by these chronic digestive issues, motivate me to show up every day.

The woman feels lost. Like she's tried it all. She's been told to eat better or stress less, and she's struggling every day. This woman isn't able to live the life that she is here to live because she's just trying to get through the day. Her spirit, her joy, and her power are dimmed because of these chronic issues. This woman is what motivates me every day. I am passionate about helping other female health practitioners build their dream businesses so we can continue to change the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Truthfully, my biggest accomplishment is my team. I am blown away by my team every day. HAN has an entirely female team of 4, and these women are incredible. Building a team that works together, feels passionate about helping others, and feels like family was always my dream. Hitting significant income milestones, helping hundreds of people worldwide, and selling out our signature program in 48 hours are other notable accomplishments that I am very proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are so many beautiful and challenging bits to being a business owner. I could list off so many. The first ones that come to mind are: believing in your vision even when you don't have any proof that it's working, continuing to show up every day even when it feels like no one is listening, managing your own time, and setting up proper boundaries, and delegating things so the business can continue to grow.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be authentic. People are attracted to your authenticity and your energy. That's not all that it is, but people can see right through fake.
  2. Keep going. I truly believe the difference between those that succeed and those that don't are not giving up. It can be so tempting, especially in the beginning stages, but you learn with every action you take.
  3. Get to know your customer inside and out. Learn their story - their pain, their desire. This will help your message land with your audience and build the know, like, and trust factor.
