What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hailey Crean Nutrition, LLC is a nutrition practice that specializes in using telehealth for the delivery of nutrition counseling for diabetes and conditions of metabolic syndrome. It was founded based on the idea that evidence-based nutrition education and support should be more convenient and accessible. We are an insurance-based practice and aim to be a resource for referring physicians and individuals living with diabetes.

Tell us about yourself

Hailey Crean Nutrition, LLC was founded in 2018 with the goal of providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and Diabetes Self Management Education and Support (DSMES) using telehealth. Seeing our clients succeed in meeting their goals and improving health-related outcomes is what drives me to keep working to improve and expand our reach.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Receiving national accreditation as a Diabetes Self Management Education and Support Program from ADCES. The Virtual Diabetes Education Program® at Hailey Crean Nutrition is one of the very first entirely virtual DSMES programs accredited by ADCES, and this is something I'm very proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner, you have a lot of balls in the air at any given time. Finding systems that help ensure things don't get missed and staying focused on the tasks that are most important to the goals of the business are important.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start before you feel you are 100% ready, you may never feel completely prepared.
  2. Avoid the comparison game. Remember the reason why you set out to do this and stay focused on that.
  3. There will be ups and downs. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.
