Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jess Miller, Co-Founder of Gypsea Air Health and Wellness LLC, located in Tarpon Springs, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Gypsea Air is a warehouse space offering fitness, yoga, massage, beauty services, aerial arts, education, art, networking, and events. Our customers are part of the local communities looking to learn more about self-love, self-care, and holistic wellness. We have new yoga students and long-time advanced practitioners. We offer so much for everybody.

Tell us about yourself

I have been teaching yoga for 5 years. Before taking my Yoga teacher training, I was a full-time traveling bartender. I always have loved the freedom of creating my own profession using all of my strengths. When we created Gypsea, we were looking for a place to teach classes and offer services to the community to help them live better life by learning more about yoga and massage. As we started building and creating, everything seemed to fall into place. We are now 4 years in business, and we just keep growing.

I am motivated by seeing how much these teachers, therapists, and hard-working contractors enhance people's lives by introducing them to some of our services. I love coming up with new ideas to celebrate healthy living. I love creating fun events and workshops to educate on all of the modalities we offer. I enjoy showing up every day, knowing I am trying my best.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Moving into the warehouse space!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Balance. Finding time between running the business, teaching the employees and teachers, hosting classes and workshops and just being me. I have found over the years that I am becoming more creative in my ways of finding a healthy balance between work and play.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do it!
  2. Find your edge!
  3. Step out of your comfort zone.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

All small businesses take time. Building a strong community and brand is so important. Inspire others, surprise your self and just keep on keeping on as you follow your dreams.
