Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ashton Wilson, Owner of Gym Closers, located in Naperville, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is lead generation for gym owners.

Tell us about yourself

After receiving my Master's degree in exercise physiology, I dedicated my time and energy to personal training. Every gym I worked for seemed to have the same issue filling their trainer's calendars with new consults. I started dedicating more time to solving this problem and stumbled across a gold mine for generating new clients. I started testing with some gym owners I knew and began helping more gym owners solve this problem with an automated system to generate leads consistently. I'm motivated by helping business owners solve their biggest bottleneck in this industry. I love to see the growth and success of businesses throughout the U.S.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is STARTING the business. As easy as it sounds, actually turning this idea into a business was the hardest part. I realized that the only way to really succeed is to start, execute, fail, and try again. The faster you can fail, the faster you will learn.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is moving past each threshold. There are levels to business, and once you reach a certain point, you need mentors and more helping hands to keep your vision growing and operating smoothly.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find something you are passionate about.
  2. Build confidence in the service that you want to provide.
  3. Prioritize your customers instead of yourself.
