Tell us all about your business...

I help entrepreneurs and solopreneurs make the transition from turning a hobby into a money making machine.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a small business consultant?

I got started because I wanted to help people. I love business and working with people who want to ensure they are fulfilling their dreams. I do what I do because I find it very rewarding to help people get out of the rat race and empowering themselves to do what they love.

As a business consultant, what does success ultimately mean to you?

I've been successful in my other business ventures and that enables me to do this, my passion. Success means more people running their own business and making the transition from employee to potential employer. The more I help, the more successful I feel.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

You've got to know more tricks than a Jedi master. No one tells you how hard it is to be at the tip of the sword. The buck starts and stops with you. At times it's not glamorous but it's worth it in the end. It can often feel quite isolated especially at the start of the adventure

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

Tip 1: Believe in yourself. If you don't why should anyone else?

Tip 2: Set a plan, it will save you time and money.

Tip 3: Get a mentor who can light the path it will save you a lot of fumbling in the dark.

Tip 4: If you're good at something never do it for free.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Harness relationships, people buy from people. Spend the time getting to know people and invest in them. That way they are more inclined to invest in you. It's hard selling to strangers and fun working with people you know. They are the easiest sales you will make.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?

You have to balance things. Burnout is real. I make time for my family by having a "Golden Hour" or two each day. I also train, keeps the mind and body focused.

Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs and best business resources/books?

Simon Sinek an excellent motivational speaker. I have a tonne of books and love to listen to audiobooks. Seth Godin is great, James Clear from Atomic Habits, Tim Ferris from 4 - Hour work week are great books.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Oh yes.

Listen to the voice that tells that you want more for yourself.

Money is a motivator but shouldn't be your main drive.

Do what you love and don't be afraid to go and fulfil your dreams.

Take each day one step at a time. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
