What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a boutique advertising agency based in sunny Okanagan, BC. Canada. Our primary services are Google ads and Social Media ads.
However, in today's marketplace, the quality of the website, website SEO, and post lead nurturing are important, so we provide those services as well.
Tell us about yourself
I had the entrepreneurial spirit going back to high school. But I followed the advice of my parents and went to university and then worked as a medical lab technologist in public healthcare.
But I wasn't satisfied with my life. So I started building websites on the side, and it just expanded from there.
- 10 yrs in business.
- Five years full-time.
- Six staff + myself.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I made it past five years :D
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Your brain never turns off. Even on Vacation, you're thinking about the business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared to never turn it off. This isn't a 40 h0urs week gig. It's every day.
- Be prepared to pay yourself last. Staff comes first.
- You will go into debt to go. Have those conversations with your family/partner/spouse beforehand.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Running a business isn't for everyone. If you have an employee mindset, you'll likely not make it.
Have an honest conversation with yourself about who you are and why you want to start a business, knowing it can take more time, money, and energy than you imagine.
