What's your business, and who are your customers?
I've run my copywriting business (KHcopywriting) since 2004. My copywriting clients range from fast-growth tech companies to Fortune 100s.
Grab Your Happy is my new passion project, where I share business tips and life advice for people who want to start an online business, earn more money, enjoy more time freedom--and live the entrepreneurial life of their dreams.
Tell us about yourself
It took a while for me to hit my entrepreneurial stride, but after running my copywriting business for almost 20 years now, I can confidently say I know what it takes to build and sustain a successful online business. And I want to help others do the same.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'd say my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the fact that I've carved out a career for myself that gives me the freedom to work from home, on my own schedule, and determine my own income (I work about 20 to 30 hours per week and earn a six-figure income). As a single mom, having that level of time- and financial-freedom isn't something I take for granted. I'm proud of the work-life balance I've achieved.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
You have to wear so many hats as a business owner. That's especially true for solopreneurs. The hardest thing for me was learning how to balance all the different sides of running a business--and knowing when to hire someone else to help out.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Give yourself permission to dream big.
- Start before you're ready (it's a cliche, but it's true).
- Say yes to opportunities that scare you (that's how you continue to grow and improve).
