What's your business, and who are your customers?

One of the most important aspects of my business is helping people of all ages change their eating and lifestyle behaviors based on their personal DNA. I know healthy lifestyle choices lead to fewer physical and mental health problems.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up in the rural countryside on the island of Jamaica, I had a fairly good idea about what good health and nutrition should look like from my father. He tended a garden filled with lots of vegetables, and our family ate mostly whole food grown on the land. Proper eating and wise lifestyle choices allowed him to live until he was 91. His longevity motivates me every day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My clients are satisfied with the help I give them for weight loss and management of many different chronic conditions.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Getting new clients and marketing, in general, have been difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be willing to collaborate with other business owners.
  2. Be ready for any changes.
  3. Have good communication skills.
