Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dani Dodd, Owner of Goddess Divine Healing, located in Arvada, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a light worker. My work is reiki-based, but I have other natural gifts that come into play during sessions. I am a natural intuitive as well as a channel; during a session, those also come into play. My clients are anyone who wants to work on healing past trauma, pain, anxiety, and stress. Or would like to receive messages from those who have passed or their spirit team.

Tell us about yourself

I have been practicing reiki for over four years now. I was gifted my first class, not really having any idea what it was. After my first class, I fell in love. I can't imagine my life without it and the other spiritual gifts it has brought into my life. I decided to start my own business almost two years ago so I could share what was given to me. Energy work was never something I had thought about before I knew I loved helping people, but this has given me a new way to do so. I love seeing the joy and excitement after someone's first session. To hear the stories of how things changed after our session. I truly enjoy being able to guide someone in this human experience.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is seeing how I have helped someone release their trauma from the past and the ability they have to move forward.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, my biggest challenge has been getting myself out there more and promoting myself. I'm not one to talk about myself, so it's been a challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it. You can figure out the logistics as you go. You don't need to know everything or have all of your ducks in a row to start. That comes in time.
  2. Have faith in yourself, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't.
  3. You may have some rough patches, but it's most definitely worth every struggle. They are just stepping stones to a stronger business.
