Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lindsey Lawson, Owner of Glow Natural Health Center, located in Seattle, WA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are an integrative natural health center that specializes in acupuncture, massage, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, and psychotherapy. We serve patients from young adults to seniors with a specialty in pain, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care.
Tell us about yourself
I have a passion for natural medicine and knew this was my calling from a young age. I suffered a torn ACL at 15, and the three repair surgeries that followed introduced me to both the pros and cons of western medicine. I love how the two can really complement each other and lead to complete healing for the patient.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have been in business since 2001. Navigating a team of 20 through the pandemic years was pretty tough, so I am proud we did it! That said, my biggest accomplishment is surrounding myself with a great team who provides excellent care.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is that, ultimately, the weight is on your shoulders. No one will care about your business as much as you do.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay persistent, and don't give up.
- Add in self-care to avoid burnout.
- Surround yourself with solid people who can help you.
