Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeff Borschowa, Founder of Global Wellness HQ, located in Edmonton, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Global Wellness HQ is a digital marketing company focusing on affluent entrepreneurs in Canada, Australia, the US, and the UK. Our clients are on a journey to reclaim their health.

Tell us about yourself

I do what I do because I am passionate about helping others. In my career, I have seen entrepreneurs squandering their health to accumulate wealth. My goal is to help them invest their wealth to rebuild their health. I started in business because I was sick and tired of the common understanding that entrepreneurs are meant to be exhausted and to work themselves to burnout. I believed there had to be a better way, so I have spent my adult life pursuing knowledge, testing it, implementing it, and sharing it. I love teaching and mentoring others to help them on their journey.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my clients. I have many who were on the verge of burnout (or well past it). We worked together to streamline their businesses by implementing systems and processes. We focused on attracting Dream Clients and actively repelling Nightmare Clients. The end result is that they tell me over and over again that they now love their business and that every year is the best year ever. I celebrate every single win like that. If it is about me, I would say that my biggest accomplishment is building a business that can help others even if I am not in the picture on a day-to-day basis.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

In my experience, the feeling of being alone is the most crushing. Entrepreneurs are pioneers; they tend to face every obstacle on their own. Finding a peer group to collaborate with is essential but hard to do on one's own.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be really clear on who you serve - if you attempt to serve everyone, you end up serving no one. Pick a niche and go deep. Pursue only Dream Clients.
  2. Fall in love with your clients, not your solution - once you identify your Dream Clients, find out everything you can about them. Know their hopes and dreams, struggles and obstacles, and above all else, their problems. Focus on solving big problems, and you will be rewarded accordingly.
  3. Being Busy for the sake of busy will kill you. Be ruthless with your time and recognize that most of your results will come from a few things. Take the time to identify the few things that bring you both joy and financial success and do them. You must eliminate anything from your day that does not meet these criteria. You can eliminate, delegate, or automate tasks that aren't in your area of expertise. Figure out which to do for the daily tasks that take up too much of your time. Only then can you focus on your highest and best purpose and use of your time.
