What's your business, and who are your customers?
We create handmade, small-batch soaps, shampoo bars, bath bombs, shower steamers, and other bath and body products. We only use natural ingredients to give our customers the best products possible. Our customers are down-to-earth people looking for a natural alternative product that cleans, nourishes, and moisturizes their bodies without harsh chemicals.
Tell us about yourself
Having lived in some harsh climates such as Montana and Alaska, I found that taking care of your skin is critical. Finding natural products that do not leave your skin dry was hard, so I made my own! I named the company after my late mother because she was an inspiration to me, plus she also liked to be pampered! The world is a hectic place these days, and taking a little time to pamper ourselves is refreshing. We all deserve to be pampered, so my bath and body products can help.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting a business during an economic downturn was a challenging endeavor. Doing so without any previous business experience was scary but sticking to it and not giving up is so rewarding!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Owning a small business has so many potential minefields that could easily derail your success. Having the tenacity to keep going when the times are tough is difficult but a critical key to getting ahead.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do your research into the business so you can develop a solid strategy to guide you through the startup process. Utilize the expertise and experience of others to help point you in the right direction. The most important tip is to keep moving forward. You will have good days and bad ones. Having lofty goals and the drive to keep after them will give you more good days than bad!
