Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mary Smith, owner and founder of Ostego, located in Vail, CO.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Ostego gives people confidence in their ability to improve their bone health.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a serial entrepreneur that's passionate about helping people.  So when my mom had a spinal fracture and I learned how widespread the problem of osteoporosis really is I decided to dig in and help solve it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is success - my involvement with multiple companies bringing information and products to customers that need them makes me really proud of how I've spent my professional life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Persistence.  Getting up every day ready to focus.  Some days that's hard for me.  Now more than ever.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Understand the spreadsheet and do the math before you start anything else.  If you can't make the numbers work on paper then it's VERY hard to make them work at all.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Help each other!  Success is not a zero-sum game.  There's plenty to go around!
