What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a fitness leader who brings people together to exercise and have fun. I empower clients through evidence-based training to become healthier, leaner, faster, stronger, and more confident. My customers are a variety of ages with different goals and limitations.

Tell us about yourself

I wanted to be a gym teacher, and mentors told me I would never make enough money to survive. So, I went into the business world but worked part-time teaching group fitness classes. Always loved teaching. One day after quitting the corporate world, I decided to offer a boot camp class in my yard. It grew, and after summer, the participants asked, “what do we do now?” I said go back to your health clubs. They said, “no” build a studio in your basement. I did… and the rest is history!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

How fast my business grew by word of mouth only.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The administration duties!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. If you are passionate and love what you do, you will be successful.
  2. Referrals are your best advertisement.
  3. Spend money on the basics, a simple website, and a few good pictures/videos. Don’t buy into expensive analytics.
