Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Joshua Berkowitz, Founder of Palace Goods, located in Toronto, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We sell high-end party goods -- champagne sabers and shot skis -- to those who love to entertain and have a great time with friends. We make mischief and beautiful.

Tell us about yourself

I love hosting and entertaining. Whenever I'm throwing a party, I look for ways to make the evening memorable. Palace is a way to combine two of my passions: business and partying. I sleep well, knowing my products bring joy to people's lives (and helping them party better).

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am extraordinarily proud of the products we've created, from the objects themselves to the packaging and branding. People love them and use them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Starting. The hardest part is deciding to do it. Then every day, make progress against that goal.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Building a network of support around you. People you can talk to when you need advice, motivation, free marketing. Building a company requires building a community of support around it. Think about how you're going to finance it. Do you need investors? Bootstrapping? A shade in between?
