Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Geoff Seow, Founder of MindAxis Life Coaching, located in Perth, WA, Australia.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm the Founder & Head Coach of MindAxis Life Coaching. I help unfulfilled Millennials create a Meaningful Life with my coaching program, The MindAxis Method™.

Tell us about yourself

In August 2020, I absolutely burned out and decided to take massive action in my life. Finding sobriety and channeling my energy to discovering the perfect hybrid between my skill set, interests, and purpose, I landed upon Life Coaching. It revolutionized everything for me. I had finally found an area of study and application that created the positive impact I desired and challenged me to evolve daily. I put everything into my preparation and worked daily to make my dream a reality.

In June 2021, I took it a level further. I left my Academia role in Clinical Research and transitioned into Life Coaching full-time. To really gather momentum, I relocated to Melbourne, Australia, and threw myself into the unknown. All or nothing. Eventually, after months of tunnel vision, in August 2021, MindAxis Life Coaching was born. A hybrid between Life Coaching and Mindset Coaching was created to revolutionize the Coaching space. I wanted to provide the world with impactful Coaching programs that are truly effective and personalized.

Since I stepped away from my Academia role in Clinical Research, I've served 50+ unfulfilled Millennials across four continents, helping them bridge the present day to their dream reality. My mission is to help unfulfilled Millennials create a Meaningful Life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment would be leading two companies I'm extremely passionate about. MindAxis Life Coaching and Astraeus Apparel are close to my heart, and I serve the world with services and products that improve people's lives. Bringing value to the world is my greatest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The discipline to not give up. Times will get tough; it is not an easy path. In the beginning, moving on and trying something easier is tempting. Resisting this temptation is extremely difficult, yet it will reap great dividends if a person makes the right choice.

There are many temptations and distractions, alongside Shiny Object Syndrome, which threatens to derail a business owner. Niche down, focus on a few select things, and do them very, very well. This is the greatest hurdle I've faced as a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Decide WHY you want to start and run a business. Link the WHY to a greater purpose beyond yourself. For example, family, children, retirement, etc.
  2. Give yourself a tight deadline to make it happen. The shorter your deadline, the more urgency you act with. Leave yourself no excuses, and you will make it a success.
  3. Collaborate frequently. You won't make it far alone, be sure to collaborate often with other business owners for mutual benefit.
