Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Gabriela Maldonado, Founder of Wellness Bloom Health Coaching, located in Cypress, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is about coaching people on how to create better habits to live happier and healthier life. My clients are those people who have health problems, have a weak immune system, or simply want to live a healthier life.

They want to eat better, sleep better, move more, feel emotionally better, reduce pain, reduce weight, etc. and are not sure how to start or what to do. They want to improve their health, and I help them do it in a holistic way.

Tell us about yourself

I became a health coach as a result of my own health journey. I realized that being healthy is not just eating the right food, but there are so many other things that can affect our health, like stress, lack of sleep, sedentarism, feelings, attitude, etc.

I created new habits to heal myself, and they worked. I want to help people find what works for them and support them as they create those changes in their lives to be healthier and happier. Healthy and happy is how we are supposed to live this life, not with pain and anxiety.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think the biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the ability to help others. When my clients improve their lives, that is the best feeling. Also, having a space where I can meet with my clients. I think personal interaction is important. I also see clients online, which is good, too, and it works. I know some people prefer face-to-face coaching, and I am happy to be able to provide that.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is that you don't have that steady check that comes every month because sometimes you have a lot of clients, and sometimes you don't.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do what you are passionate about and what brings you joy.
  2. Be thankful every day and trust that when you do what you like with love and passion, you will grow.
  3. Save to be ok during slow times.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We all deserve to live a good life, and there is always something we can do to feel better. Whether you do it on your own or you choose to work with a health coach or other health professional, don't give up on your health. The body is amazing, and it has the power to heal itself if we just give it a chance.
