What's your business, and who are your customers?

Salesforce and Pardot consulting agency, where we help to implement, audit, fix or maintain these systems for our clients.

Tell us about yourself.

I've been in Sales and Marketing for 20 years and started an outsourced sales organization 22 years ago and then moved into Salesforce and Pardot Consulting in 2018. I love that I learn something new about these systems daily and am able to help clients utilize these tools in a meaningful way. I love creating content to share with all. It motivates me to see end users viewing and downloading my content.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have been able to recruit and maintain staff from around the world and expand my Salesforce consulting business by 15 times in the first four years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being able to trust others to perform. In order to grow, I need to let others lead and trust them. It just takes time to learn about the team member's strengths and weaknesses and know when to let them run with it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire people with complementary talents and communicate daily.
  2. You need to know how to sell. Selling can be selling your services or selling your ideas.
  3. Set big long-term goals that may seem unachievable and quarterly tactical goals.
