What's your business, and who are your customers?

G-style Coaching, LLC provides life coaching and empowerment speaking for women by Positively. Motivating. Sisters. with Purpose. Meaning. Style. Our company is passionate about helping a woman win in her personal and professional growth by connecting her on purpose from where she is to her what's next. She is a professional woman who knows she wants more in her life, seeking purpose and ready to do the work to live out her dreams. She is ready to remove the excuses that keep her trapped in a life she is not fulfilled by investing in her life's growth.

Tell us about yourself

I am a girl who was raised in a single-parent home with my mom and the only child. Growing up, I desired to have a close bond with a sister with whom I could share my struggles, laugh, cry, love, and fight a little. It was such a growing passion; it brought me to this place of purpose. Positively. Motivating. Sisters. with Purpose. Meaning. Style. Of course, I didn't start working on my business then, but my life was getting me ready for the birth of G-style Coaching, LLC, and still more to come.

After many personal struggles, as most of us can experience, I wrote this mission with a vision in 2010. My mission is "To live an abundant life on purpose that serves, creates, inspires, motivates, and empowers women to live in their full potential by using the gifts God has created in me to share with the world, personally and professionally." In June of 2020, my life changed. I went from sleepwalking through my life to hearing my wake-up call. I had to choose to live or die. It was the bigger than me moment. They often say pain and passion produce purpose. This was the truth for me. The alarm sounds off (my pain), and I wake up (my passion)! Why? Because my life was calling. My calling is empowering women successfully from the classroom to the boardroom because we are meant to grow and develop in all chapters of our life.

As the CEO and Founder of G-style Coaching, LLC, I am motivated with passion, persistence, and a promise as your life growth coach, empowerment speaker, and, yes, your personal P.M.S. cheerleader in guiding all the sisters I never had growing up to now seeing each woman grow in her life and business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Launching my podcast, "What's all the P.M.S.? with Coach G reaching over 15 countries outside the U.S. in less than 6 months, which covers topics of conversation empowering the whole woman: mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and financially.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Having to keep things in perspective. I battle with charging clients because I love what I do, but I must keep in mind that I am running a business that involves cost, time, service, and a family to take care of. I constantly have creative ideas and thoughts, and I want to do them all, but I have learned to focus on a strategic plan by writing the vision and setting plans of action and timeframes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be resilient: Start with your "why" and rehearse it because many things will challenge you along the planning, building, and developing stages. So, you must know why you will not give up.
  2. Stay motivated: Surround yourself with other business owners, entrepreneurs, people in the same career field you seek to start your business, and organizations. In other words, connect, network, and learn from each other.
  3. Stand on your values: Your values are the foundation of the message of your brand. You are your brand. Know what value you are serving your clients/customers and who they are.
  4. And, can I add another tip? Discipline: You must continue to consistently do the work and show up because you are your own boss.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Enjoy the process on your journey. Know your power, take care of yourself, hone your strengths, and don't allow anyone or anything to steal your purpose of what you will share in being a solution to someone's problem.
