Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Princess Ethan, Co-Founder and CEO of G.L.O.W. Management Group, located in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

G.L.O.W. Mgmt. Group is an Art & Entertainment (event planning included) that works with many clients in numerous different market sectors and geographic areas. Our clients are domestic and international, profit and non-profit, as well as smaller, forward-thinking organizations that aspire to succeed. We plan and produce events for start-ups, mature organizations, and those going through re-invention and needing advice and guidance specific to their situation.

Tell us about yourself

I have a university degree in social communications, marketing, and public relations. I have always loved the entertainment world, and I am good at planning and decorating (designing). My husband is a music artist and a videographer. He is also the co-founder of this company.

So one day, we received a prophetic word that we were called into this Arts & Entertainment industry and that we had to use our natural talents to reach out to those in need. My husband and I woke up one morning, we prayed about it, and we took action. That is how we now exist as a company. What motivates me every day is being able to provide an appreciated service and fill a need for big institutions (like the parliament of Canada with ‘’the National Prayer Breakfast’’), churches, etc., as well as small businesses and individuals

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having believed in the prophetic word and mastered the courage to start this company. We started by producing small promo videos, then music videos, weddings, etc., and  when we did not even think about it, God opened a way, and for two years in a row, we produced the National Prayer Breakfast of Canada (one of the high-level events in the country). This event has contributed to establishing our ‘’G.L.O.W Production’’ brand within the community.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is funding. It is very difficult to start from scratch and make something out of your salary. It is a big challenge. We are still working hard, my team and I, to become financially stable and create employment for more people, especially millennials, within our company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Pray about everything and trust the process.
  2. Work hard, be confident and bold enough to try.
  3. If you fail, get up and try again until you make it because it won't be easy but if you keep up growth and success are guaranteed.
