Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fine arts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ranbir Sidhu, creator of FUTUREZONA, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The nature of the business is to produce provocative art/sculpture that can be functional. The pieces are usually evocative of futurism with multicultural elements, and our international customers range from art aficionados to iconic celebrities.

Tell us about yourself

At a young age, I was exposed to and attracted by engineering and art that broke boundaries and inspired imagination. I was also lucky enough to grow in an atmosphere that nurtured my inclination towards breaking barriers and challenging impossibilities. Those incentives remain today. I'm inspired by cultural diversity and creative genius on a daily basis. People, places, and events that create our present are what motivate me to manufacture future art.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm proud of all my creations. I think the biggest accomplishment as a business owner is developing a company that embraces real-time dreaming and collectively produces awe-inspiring articles. Grabbing the attention of respected artists like Jay-Z and Drake is also a company that I can be proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Owning a business has a unique set of challenges. One of the hardest is time management. As the creative leader and owner, there is never enough time to devote to the many projects we have in mind. It becomes important after a while to delegate with trust.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Trust yourself and your vision.
  2. Surround yourself with good people creating a genuinely supportive environment.
  3. Don't be afraid to fail before you succeed.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
