Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lauren Papanos, founder of Functional Fueling Nutrition, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Functional Fueling Nutrition is an online-based nutrition practice specializing in women's hormone conditions. We work with women to help them heal using nutrition and lifestyle so that they can regain confidence in their bodies. We believe that hormones impact everything within us: how we feel and how we look. Our approach is centered around utilizing root cause testing and assessments to address the causes of imbalance and using the healing properties of food and lifestyle to rebalance the body to its most balanced state.

Tell us about yourself

Having dealt with my own hormone and digestive issues many years ago, I sought to find holistic healing. After healing my hormone condition with nutrition and lifestyle, I knew I wanted to help women do the same. I am motivated by the ability to educate and empower women on their health and help make a difference in their lives. I believe that my gift is to help women heal so that they can then use their own gifts to make a difference in the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a team and expanding services online so that we can reach women all over the world.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Making decisions on how to continue to grow and provide our audience with their needs.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take messy action. It will never be perfect, don't wait for the right time or to have it all figured out first.
  2. Ask questions from other business owners and your customers.
  3. Organize and automate to make scaling and your professionalism within your business a no-brainer.
