Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natasha Flores-Makon, CEO, and Founder of Fullove Foods, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Fullove is for those who like to see the glass half full. We are a health food brand that believes in shifting the narrative towards what food is FULL OF rather than 'free-from.' We currently offer grain and gluten-free Paleo & Keto breads that are full of incredible, gut-loving ingredients (& taste like real bread!)

Tell us about yourself

I grew up around chocolate my whole life. I am a 6th-generation chocolatier, and I've learned everything about the food business from my incredible father. When I had the idea of Fullove Foods, he was the first person I went to. With his encouragement and confidence, I moved forward and built out my vision.

I am tremendously motivated by my mission and the impact we can have. I see what's possible (& absolutely necessary!) in the food space, and I want to contribute in my own unique way to this vital life source! Practically speaking, I am motivated by small wins. When you own your own business, you have to celebrate and fully indulge in these small wins. They are what make it all worth it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being part of a shifting food dynamic and era. There is more consciousness in this field than ever before, and I'm extremely proud to be contributing to it alongside other incredible founders.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You're constantly putting out fires as a business owner! The key is really to be calm and clear-headed when solving problems. Think about it - you're creating something out of nothing you're bound to come up against resistance; you just have to be so sold on your idea that absolutely nothing can get in the way.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn to delegate. You physically cannot do everything by yourself without burning out. Plus, allow people to thrive in areas that aren't your strength.
  2. Literally just do it. Get started. There are sayers, and there are doers in this world. Be a doer. You don't want to look back and regret not starting it. As long as you have a plan, you are 100% in, and you know the right people who can get you to your goals, you can absolutely be successful.
  3. Patience. We live in an area where we are convinced that there are instant results. Nothing is instant. Be consistent and patient, and you will see results.
