Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey by launching a fitness business but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Christie Taylor, owner, and nutrition coach of Trufit20, based in Denver, Colorado, United States.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

20-minute High-Intensity Strength Training Workout is scientifically proven to be the safest, most effective, most efficient workout. Performed only 1 or 2 times a week and in your regular day clothes!

Tell us about yourself

We have been in business for 14 years now, and we are obsessed with helping people live happier and healthier lifestyles. We get people out of pain, feel more robust, and have more energy faster than anything else out there. Not only that but in less time than you spend in regular gyms without the hassle of showers and memberships and creating time. I am so motivated by making results that last!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I believe it's our retention. I'm so proud to be in our studio every day with clients that have been doing it for years. Most become like family. I am told that by a lot of our clients. The program works so well, and it's something that anyone can commit to, but I believe it's the synergy of the environment that makes people feel at home.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would say it's constantly marketing and. Being able to reach the right people at the right time. Fitness is a susceptible subject for most people, and they have to be ready to get serious about feeling better. People often don't carve out the time and budget to work on themselves. But because of that, I think that we have very sick and unhealthy humanity. I want to empower people to prioritize their health and advocate for their wellness by taking matters into their own hands and not just doing what the doctor says. Often, there is no pill for getting stronger and out of pain, not to mention the long-term effects they would have if there were to be one. People need to take action, and this is something that they can do easily once or twice a week for just 2o minutes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If it's not a "hell ya," it's a "hell no" when hiring. Hire slowly, fire quickly. And know your "Why"!
