Tell us about yourself and your journey to where you are today...

I was fed up with my job and my daughter had finished university so I was at the point in my life where I was able to change my career. I previously qualified as an aromatherapist and I am interested healing properties and effects of flowers and plants, even more so now after the Covid pandemic. I have always loved working with flowers and took the leap starting a degree course in Professional Floristry and Floral Design. This year I am taking a course in horticulture. I started my business four years ago and do freelance work.

What motivates you each day?

I love what I do and the pleasure and joy that it brings to others.

What makes your flower business stand out?

I love working with local, naturally grown flowers and foliage. I work with other local businesses and currently my customers are also local. I have started off slowly and am gradually building my client base. I believe passionately in providing the best products at affordable prices.

To what would you attribute your entrepreneurial success?

I will not compromise on quality products or service delivery. I am always willing to learn and adapt and continue to build business relationships through networking opportunities.

What's been your biggest accomplishment to date as a business owner?

Achieving my degree and being nominated for the British Florist Association Institute of Professional Floristry Student of the Year Awards 2021.

What is the hardest thing that comes with being a business owner?

Time management, multi-tasking, and still finding the time to keep up to date with industry trends.
