What's your business, and who are your customers?
bloominCouture is a luxury floral studio rooted in the tradition of European floristry, tempered by the ethos of sustainability and infused with the dramatic richness of bold colors and textures.
Tell us about yourself
My background was in high fashion and couture. So when I unwittingly signed up to take a fun afternoon flower arranging class with a friend, little did I know that it would launch my career in floristry. I love learning and creating every season, much like fashion brings an entirely new color palette.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I was so excited to move my business into a beautiful studio in a chic neighborhood of San Francisco. I was confident with the step as I had the year booked with event clients...then COVID hit one month later. Within a few months, I pivoted to individual delivery. I was quickly named a top luxury florist for delivery in SF. I’m so proud of reinventing my brand and business during a pandemic and thriving!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Honestly, the hardest part of being a small business owner is doing everything yourself - from dreaming up designs to marketing to meeting with clients.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Have your business based on your passion, be willing to do all aspects of the job, and look for opportunities to learn from masters in your desired field.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I never thought I would be a small business owner, and I am absolutely delighted every day with the brand I have created and the amazing clients who have entered my life.
