What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fitness Protection is a subscription-based run coaching membership program. Our customers are people who are tired of the pressures to be smaller or faster and just want to enjoy running again.
Tell us about yourself
After two babies back to back and moving to altitude, I was the least fit I’d ever been. I couldn’t find a coach I trusted to work with me, so I became the coach I wanted to hire! I’m motivated to make sure every person counts their wins, gives themself credit for what they do, and feels #coachedandloved.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am pretty proud that we survived the pandemic. The global running industry got absolutely creamed, so I’m glad we are still viable and profitable!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having to do all the things! Sometimes I wish I could just focus on coaching, but as the owner, I have to spread myself really thin.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be sure you consider and track all costs very carefully before you open your doors! People will try to sell you all kinds of things you don’t really need. When it comes to growth, handle as much of the marketing as you can before you outsource it - what you don’t know will cost a fortune without helping you sell.
