We are a full-service accounting firm for health and fitness entrepreneurs.
Tell us about yourself
I am a Financial Expert for health and fitness entrepreneurs. I had spent my career starting and growing a financial services practice at a time when it was a mostly male-dominated industry. I crushed that stigma and grew one of the largest agencies of its kind in the State. Along the way, I fell in love with health and fitness as a mental release from the strain of being a busy entrepreneur and ironically started a nutrition coaching business. I, along with my husband Shawn, realized how many other health and fitness entrepreneurs out there needed help on the financial side of running their businesses, just as I did in my entrepreneurial journey. This is how Fit CFO was born.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing multiple businesses from the ground up while being a busy mom and wife and still achieving high-level fitness goals.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Early on, not knowing what you don't know and having to build a blueprint out of nothing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a great mentor, doesn't even need to be in your industry, but someone you can trust to give you good guidance.
- Build the plane while you're flying it; not taking action, even if it's the wrong one, will cost you precious time. If it's the wrong action, learn from it and move on quickly.
- Understand your business finances, keep your finances organized and separate from your personal expenses, review your financial reports frequently, and always "know your numbers."
