What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have a personal finance platform where I mostly serve black moms and nurses because I happen to represent both.
Tell us about yourself
I always knew how to make money, but I never knew how to build wealth. I thought it wasn't accessible to me. When I became a mom, I knew I had to do better for my daughter, and I set out on a mission to improve my finances. I decided to share my lessons along the way, and that grew into Financially Intentional.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing my platform to over 100k followers and being able to be a conduit of knowledge and resources my followers didn't even know were available to them.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Content creation can be time-consuming and may not yield immediate results, and it can be hard to be consistent.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't expect overnight success.
- Consistency trumps perfection.
- Monetize your services before spending a ton of money on services, coaching, and tools.
