What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is candles, and we are known for our uniqueness. We believe in providing more than just a regular candle. We are passionate about providing unique and eco-friendly candles crafted with the highest quality materials that can be reused repeatedly! From home decor to special gifts for your loved one, you'll find a multitude of options with us to pick from. Whether you're after a particular scent or vessel design, we welcome every candle enthusiast into our store, no matter what they may be looking for.
Tell us about yourself
Our love of candles, combined with a bit of creativity and a lot of hard work, first motivated us to start making our own. We began experimenting with various wicks, waxes, and scents fueled by the excitement of creating something new and getting it just right. What continues to motivate us even more than that is the chance to make a lasting impact with our products. We pour our heart and soul into creating every item in the hopes that we can give somebody else a moment of peace or respite from their day. Crafting unique pieces always challenges us to be better makers and keep learning – both of which we are incredibly passionate about!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When we first decided to become business owners, we were brave enough to step out of our comfort zone and seek help from the community. We felt a bit lost at the outset of this journey, but in hindsight, it was just what we needed. Looking back, we're proud to say that building our brand has been faster than anticipated. The biggest accomplishment? That would be the tight-knit network of individuals who have come together to support our endeavors. Our success would not have been possible without them, and we are forever grateful!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
When we started our candle business, we thought proudly that our biggest challenge would be marketing and selling our product. Little did we know that our biggest challenge would be to discover exactly what set us apart from the competition. We spent months studying the market and talking to customers about what was important to them, only to find out that finding our value was a much bigger challenge than we had anticipated. We finally crafted a unique value proposition that focused on handmade quality, sustainability, and customization options for customers – and it has paid off incredibly as we have seen continued success since then!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Starting a business can feel overwhelming if you don't know where to start, but with three simple tips, it doesn't have to be so daunting. First and foremost, no matter how difficult running your business seems at times, never give up. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Second, find an entrepreneurial tribe that can offer support and guidance. It may be in the form of mentors or like-minded entrepreneurs; either way, building a support system is essential for success. Finally, don't be afraid to ask for help from those around you. Don't consider yourself too proud or too small to reach out when there's something you need help with; it's essential for progress and growth in any business venture. With these tips in mind, anyone can make their entrepreneurial dreams come true.
