What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business, Feel the Heal, is a one-stop shop in Miami for Skin Care and Alternative Wellness. We offer Facials, Hydrafacials, PRP Microneedling, Lash Lifting, Natural Teeth Whitening, Chemical Peels, to name a few, as well as Colonic Irrigations, Liver Gallbladder detoxing, Ear Candling, Acupuncture, and so much more.
We have an extensive menu of treatments to choose from. Our customers are individuals who are interested in alternative healing & beauty services.
Tell us about yourself
Feel the Heal opened in 2001. Hard to believe it's been over two decades. I was 21 when we first opened our doors. Prior to Feel the Heal, I was studying to be a midwife. I think being so young and being on call for births took a toll on me, and having my massage license got me in the door at a spa once I decided to give up on my midwifery career.
I fell in love with the spa scene and furthered my education and got my Esthetician license, and later went on to become a Master's Medical Esthetician as well as a Colon Therapist. This field allowed me to have the best of two worlds, detox & skincare.
These two careers combined can heal us outside as well as inside. I love seeing all the advances in technology year after year and learning about new products & ways to heal the body and better our skin. Making changes in people's lives and making them feel better about themselves is extremely motivating.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting to say that I own an over two decade opened and successful business is pretty huge, and I'm very grateful for it.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Multitasking and keeping up with the changes of the world. The pandemic was a huge scare for me. Not knowing whether we would open back up after and if it would still be the same.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared to work hard & not give up.
- Never stop growing or learning.
- Stay motivated and current.
- Be patient with yourself.
- Never compete with others.
- Always stay in your lane and worry about yourself, and don't be afraid to ask for help.
