Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Francis Beto, Founder of FBF HEALTH COACHING, located in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a health and wellness coach and offer one-on-one coaching for clients looking to lose weight, get healthy and improve their overall habits. My main audiences are females and moms who try to run a busy life between family and work, and I help them fit in the health piece. My program is based on three pillars: nutrition, mindfulness, and self-growth. While weight loss and nutrition is a big area, we focus on all aspects of life. What brings you joy? How do you fill up your cup? How do you set boundaries? Unless you create balance in your life, you will never live up to your full potential. I help females become the best version of themselves!
Tell us about yourself
I’ve worked as a health coach for the last ten years. I had my own set of health issues. Initially, I was overworked and overweight and went on a long journey to lose 50 pounds myself. That was initially my motivation to teach others what I had learned and to make weight loss approachable and easier for everyone. After I had my daughter, I developed new health issues related to my thyroid, which made me gain weight again. However, by then, I had all the tools necessary and understanding of how to approach this issue. Health is a lifelong journey. It’s not a six-week crash diet. Every day comes with new challenges. Once we moved to Nevada and I had to give up my long-term position as a health coach, I decided to start my own business and do this on my own.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Finishing up with my clients after 6-12 months. My job is to give you all the tools so you can continue doing this on your own. It is the most rewarding feeling to watch my clients develop and grow during that time. They become healthier and happier people on so many different levels. We may start out focusing on nutrition, but I’ve heard my clients think me for saving their marriage, getting their dream job, and getting pregnant after years of hormonal issues. When you start taking care of yourself and living up to your highest self, the rest of your life improves too!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying organized! As coaches, we often are empaths. Anything I’ve been related to is not my forte, so I had to do a lot of learning on that end.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- DO NOT WAIT! There is never the right time; the only time is now! That was the biggest success for me in becoming a business owner. I decided it didn’t need to be 100% perfect; I was going to be satisfied with 70% effort. I decided to perfect it as I went. And once you start, you learn, you grow, and your brand and company grow. Just get started, and the rest will follow!
- Find a mentor. Use people who Have done this before to help you out. Especially in the social media community, people are so helpful in sharing what platforms they use, etc.
- Do not do it for the money. Work on perfecting your product and be authentic to what you’re trying to create. The first couple of years can be tough, but money will follow!!
