What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help families save more, argue less, and keep the fun! I work with clients who are having trouble finding extra money at the end of the month and getting on the same page despite earning a decent income.
Tell us about yourself
I used to manage investments for clients, but then I realized that having extra money at the end of the month is the best predictor of future financial success. On top of that, budgeting troubles are getting in the way of thriving finances and relationships. I really enjoy the transformation that couples have by having productive conversations around money and developing a clear plan for their spending.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Slowing myself down and getting over perfection. I wanted to do everything at once, and nothing really got done effectively. It wasn't until I slowed down while taking focused action on one thing at a time did my business really start to take off.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
They say that the first two years of running a business are the hardest, and that is so true!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't isolate yourself. Make sure you maintain social outlets and a mentoring network. Entrepreneurship can feel really lonely at times.
- Build a cash runway. No doubt, it will take longer and be more expensive to get things going. Be prepared, so your financial situation doesn't cause you to abandon your dream too early.
- Stay closely in tune with what your customer wants. It's ok to have your ideas to start, but adapt based on patterns you see in your customer preferences and demands.
