What's your business, and who are your customers?

I offer permanent makeup, brows, lips, eyeliner, and lash extensions. As an Esthetician for 29 years, I have found a love for enhancing clients' features. Whether it's creating beautiful, even brows, giving lips a fuller appearance through permanent makeup, or helping women wake up with gorgeous lashes every day. Through my continual education, I'm able to offer expert services that enhance their beauty and give them more confidence.

Tell us about yourself

I began my profession 29 years ago as an Esthetician. I loved helping others learn to better care for their skin which in turn helped them age gracefully. 15 years ago, Lash extensions surfaced, and I became an educator, teaching other professionals and certifying them as a Lash Tech. Seven years ago, I decided to educate myself in permanent makeup further. I love what I do in helping so many feel better, whether it's through having beautiful, even-shaped brows or lash extensions.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is that I've continued educating myself so I can offer expert services to my clients. I've also appeared in NYC Journal. I've written articles for Lash Inc and was featured in the book "Secrets to Succes, Lash Industry Influencers."

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things as a business owner is knowing when to stop the clock. I've had to learn that when I'm finished with clients for the day to go home and stop working.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Never stop educating yourself and your employees.
  2. Have patience.
  3. You can't do everything. Make use of others' services (marketing, scheduling, etc.).

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

In owning a business, I've found that many wonderful people appreciate what my business can offer. Some don't respect a professional's time. Don't be afraid to lose or not schedule someone if you don't click. Stay true to what you do and continue to grow as a person and in your profession.
