What's your business, and who are your customers?

Along with my business partner, Nick Fager, we have created a psychotherapy practice that focuses on the Queer and BIPOC communities with locations in NY, SF, and LA.

Tell us about yourself

I have always found the project of learning about oneself and how to be in a relationship with others both fascinating and ultimately unknowable. I was a professional ballet dancer in my first career, and working closely with others was always enjoyable to me.

What motivates me is the idea that with loving kindness, a moment between two people can be healing. We just have to learn and practice being the kind of person that makes these moments possible.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm very proud of the team that we have built. I think there is a connection between all of us and an affinity we all share for creating a healing environment for our clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

While I would truly like to be friends with all of our employees, at the end of the day, I'm the boss.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

It really helped Nick and me to have a mission statement. Everything grew from this. I love having a partner (and could not have created this without him) because I learn and grow through relationships, so every challenge that has come along, I've had him to go through it with. I recommend this!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Ultimately we have to find out what our hearts want and follow that direction.
