Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hannah Chapman, Founder, and CEO of Expansive CEO, located in West Chester, OH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Expansive CEO was born out of the desire to help visionary entrepreneurs learn how to grow and scale their businesses with joy and ease. To shift from the typical experience of the hustle and grind and always putting out fire after fire while trying to grow their business...to an experience of growing with intention and flow. Learning how to identify the vision for what you want to create in your business and your life, how to align your time, money, and most importantly, your energy towards that big vision, and then how to integrate and hold each new expansion as it comes.
My clients are rapidly scaling entrepreneurs who are feeling that fatigue of hustle and grind in their business, who want to continue to grow, who want to make more money and help more people...and who have experienced the hard way of growing their business and are ready to learn another way, full of joy and gratitude and alignment! They have typically been in business for several years or more, are scaling past the 6-figure mark, and are experiencing a lot of confusion around their financial results in their business and their personal lives, and want to feel more inner peace and inner safety when they look at their financial picture.
Tell us about yourself
I am a Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP) with 16 years of experience in the financial industry, and I also own X² Wealth Planning, where I empower visionary entrepreneurs to be the financial leader of their own lives through comprehensive business and personal financial planning and investment strategy. And as I've built that business and met hundreds of amazing entrepreneurs, I realized that I desired to bring visionary entrepreneurs together in a new way! And I also realized that the way I work with my comprehensive planning clients could be distilled down to its essence and shared more widely with the world in group settings. The process of discovery, alignment, and expansion applies to every entrepreneur, not just the ten or so clients per year that I can take on in my financial planning practice, and I wanted to be able to share that message with hundreds and thousands of business owners through workshops, masterminds, and just make it more accessible overall! When an entrepreneur "gets it," feels empowered to make new financial decisions, and starts experiencing growth in their business in a new way, it fills my heart with so much joy and gratitude for this work that I get to do in the world.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is learning to follow my inspiration. To tap into my own biggest visions for the impact I want to have on the world in this lifetime and then take the next right step in the path, the step that is aligned with my own energy and supported by my time and money. I embody and practice what I teach! And as I experience expansion in my own business and in my life, I get to incorporate every new aspect that I learn into the next version of what I get to teach to others.
Building my first business to multiple 6-figures within two years and launching a second business (Expansive CEO) just 19 months after my first business (X² Wealth Planning) are huge accomplishments for me, and at the same time, both are still just steps on the path towards my biggest visions for helping visionary entrepreneurs grow and scale with ease!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is deconditioning yourself from doing anything that you feel like you "should" be doing, but that isn't in alignment with who you truly are and with your big vision. We are bombarded with messaging about the "right" way to do things, from our upbringing, our families, our industries, our formal training, and our societies at large...and what really matters most is being able to go inside of ourselves, listen to that voice of intuition/inspiration/instinct and follow the path that is right for each of us individually. That feels really scary when you start doing it because you're going away from the herd, away from the crowd, not blending in! And it is also the path to your greatest joy and fulfillment.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, really take the time to discover what you love. Business or personal. What do you love about it? What part lights you up? Now turn to your work in the world specifically. What aspect of that do you love? Most of us don't love every single piece of what we do, and it's when we dive fully into the aspect of what we LOVE about our work that we start to set ourselves apart from the pack. Once you understand what it is that you love about your work, where your genius lies, and you channel as much of your time, money, and energy into that area as you can, that's when growth happens quickly, easily, and with joy!
