Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jason Dixon, DC, founder of Evolve Chiropractic, located in Fort Worth, TX, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Evolve Chiropractic, you can take advantage of a cutting-edge chiropractic process that most chiropractors don't even know about yet. We provide NetworkSpinal™ Care which involves gentle, non-invasive, light-touch adjustments that cue your nervous system to create new health-promoting strategies and changes. We help you move from where you are currently in your health to a place of optimal health, where you feel good, function well, and can do the things you love to do. With a healthier spine and nervous system, you truly can create your own health and life rather than allowing your health to create your life.
Our practice members range from helping newborns get a strong start in life to helping high-performance athletes take their game to the next level, avoiding injuries and speeding recovery, to helping great-grandparents enjoy more functional and active lifestyles.
Through NetworkSpinal Care, we have seen countless practice members connect to the roots of physical, mental, and emotional stress locked in their nervous system and create incredible changes in their spines, minds, and lives.
Tell us about yourself
As far back as I can remember, I have always enjoyed helping other people. I discovered energy medicine and an ability to connect with others at an early age. I had a calling to help people improve their lives, shift their consciousness, and become more loving. My calling to serve eventually led me to chiropractic and to the mind-body-spirit integrated work, NetowrkSpinal Care. The miracles we see in the office every day keep the calling alive. I absolutely love what I do and am grateful for every opportunity to share my gifts with my community.
I graduated with honors from Parker University. I studied many chiropractic techniques at Parker, attended multiple advanced technique seminars while in school, and have traveled around the country studying an amazing form of care known as NetworkSpinal. I love the way this care helps my practice members unleash their potential and improve their spines, minds, and lives in an incredible way.
I am certified in Applied Kinesiology by the ICAK and have achieved two certifications in NetworkSpinal Care through the EpiEnergetics™ Foundation. I continue to travel, study, and enhance my skills to deliver outstanding, life-changing care. I work with patients and practice members to achieve a higher level of integrity in their spine and nervous system so they can live and perform at a higher level than ever before.
With a passion for research and understanding how the body works and what about our care helps people transform their health, I lend my expertise and knowledge to H2D Software as the Subject Matter Expert to assist in the creation of the most comprehensive, technique-specific chiropractic software available.
I married my best friend, Jenna, 12 years ago. We met in high school, and it was love forever! Together we have three sweet dogs, Molly Sue, Mr. Dale, and Sammy. We live right here in Fort Worth and love creating and engaging in the community. In my spare time, I love to play guitar, read, write, and enjoy watching a good movie or playing a game with friends.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the change I see in people's lives and the improvements they are then able to make in their families and communities. We have provided education and events for the community. We have brought many holistic practitioners together, creating an even bigger impact on the health of our community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is finding the balance between work (even though what I do doesn't feel like work) and personal life. I love my practice, my practice members are like family, and I am always envisioning what we will create next for our community! In the last two years, I have found a good balance of being more present with the different areas of my life. When I'm home, I'm home. Being able to be fully present with each role we play in life is essential to fully enjoy life. This has been the greatest challenge and the greatest teacher in owning my own business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I offer to anyone in business (and in life) are:
- Know your outcome. What is your goal? Write it down! Know where you are headed before you fire up the engines of your passion and devote the most precious resource you have - your time.
- Manage your focus (not your time). We cannot multi-task. We need to focus on one thing at a time, be present, and be masterful at it.
- Done is better than perfect. Some say I'm a perfectionist. I prefer "highly detail-oriented and committed to excellence." ;-) When running a business, there are countless things to do, and we can justify not doing them because they aren't perfect or we don't have the right tool to do them perfectly. Get it done. Do it better next time if needed, but get it done! Market yourself before you feel ready; go to networking meetings to make connections even if it terrifies you to speak in public. The anticipation of needing to get things done can be worse than actually just doing the stuff we are procrastinating on.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Be authentic. Everything you do in life and in business will be better because of you being yourself. Learn from mentors, coaches, and peers, but above all - be you. Do business (and everything else in life) with complete integrity, transparency, and authenticity. Your community will rise up to support you and cheer you on!
