What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a Telemedicine company. We provide both medical and behavioral healthcare to individuals, small businesses, and non-profits.
Tell us about yourself
I met someone seven years ago who explained to me what telemedicine was. I knew at that moment it was the future of medicine, so I went back to the office and did my due diligence. Shortly thereafter, I started the company. I started the company for two reasons. One, I was tired of insurance companies taking advantage of people and charging so much for coverage. Second, I wanted to help people whether they could afford traditional health insurance or not. My motto is: "we serve the underserved."
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Staying in business until the pandemic hit. Until then, no one really knew what telemedicine was, and then when the pandemic hit, it brought it to the forefront, and now most people have heard of it or have used it.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying on top of the ever-changing landscape. This is basically a technology business, and it moves at light speed. You have to be aware of all the new ideas that pop up every day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Never give up.
- Have a true passion for your business.
- Stay on top of your industry and stay in your lane.
