Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tracy Mann, Founder of Everyday Nutrition, LLC., located in Centennial, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Everyday Nutrition, LLC is a private nutrition practice specializing in helping women with PCOS, infertility, other hormonal symptoms, and digestive issues manage their health naturally. I pride myself on the fact that we dig to resolve root cause issues, not just mask symptoms, and help clients implement actionable steps that suit their lifestyle.

Tell us about yourself

After five years of practicing as a dietitian in typical medical settings, I felt motivated to help women achieve optimal health rather than waiting to treat a medical condition when it becomes harder to do naturally. My clients were coming to me saying they had symptoms for years, and their typical medical team would just tell them to deal with symptoms because they are a woman or only offer hormonal birth control as treatment. Once I discovered how to utilize my nutrition expertise and passion for listening and digging, I was able to be the expert many women were searching for.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a business owner has many rewards! Having such a profound impact on my clients' lives while also balancing my role as a mom of 5 is probably my biggest accomplishment. Helping my clients, who have previously been blown off by their other healthcare practitioners, achieve their dreams of balancing hormones naturally has been the best! When clients tell me they wish they had found me much sooner lets me know that what I'm doing is changing lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a business owner has many rewards, but it's hard, too! For me, my training as a registered dietitian did not involve any guidance on running my own business, so learning all the things from budgeting, advertising, and billing, on top of continued education to be an expert in my field, has been the hardest. I honestly feel like I've earned another graduate degree from all that I've had to learn to run my business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. My 1st tip is to go for it! If you have the desire, you won't regret it. It might be hard at times, but it's so worth it!
  2. Utilize your peers and others who are doing what you want to do. Find a mentor, join a mastermind, and get involved in your community if you can. It helps to connect with others who have been in your shoes and have achieved what you want to achieve.
  3. You will have to invest in your business before it feels comfortable to do so. You need to be smart about where you spend, but don't let the lack of money stop you from making a positive investment toward your dream.
