What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Euphoria Cafe, a local independent third-wave coffee shop in Northwest Calgary. We make awesome coffee, food, and pastries without being pretentious! We get all sorts of customers such as young professionals, moms, seniors, business people, artists, and more. It’s so great to cater to such a vibrant community. We welcome all Calgarians. We do our best to cater to them and offer a range of treats whether you are gluten-free, vegan, keto, etc.
Tell us about yourself
Business has pretty much always been in my blood. My dad had a juice shop back in the day. I grew up in that environment and helped out. Running my own business seemed like my destiny. I love coffee. It made sense to start Euphoria Cafe. Bringing happiness to people is what motivates me each day!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
There are always ups and downs with running a business, such as the pandemic we are going through. We have been open for 12 years now and still going. That alone is a big accomplishment. Being able to adapt to the changing times, trends, etc.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is finding personal time for yourself and your family, not always thinking about business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do something you are passionate about.
- Be prepared to put in a lot of hours. It always needs your attention. Nothing grows on its own.
- Build relationships.
