What's your business, and who are your customers?
Essential Oil Wizardry is a community-built botanical extract and essential oil business. We source our ingredients from artisans from around the world, as well as local farms producing organic and wild-crafted botanical extract products. Our company produces novel tinctures, therapeutic formulations, exquisite botanical perfumes and surely has products for every member of the family! We love to express magic through plants. We are ready to share and educate both newcomers and those who are experienced with essential oils!
Tell us about yourself
Ever since I was young, I've been inspired to help people. I was fascinated by drugs and the powerful impact they can have on the human psyche. This interest at a young age empowered me to study pharmacy at the University of the Pacific, where I earned my Doctorate. As I continued to evolve, I kept an open mind to alternative healing modalities, which can get to the root of the issues that compromise our health and wellbeing. After pharmacy school, I studied and experimented with different healing remedies such as homeopathy, herbal remedies, Chinese medicine, and nutrition. In my studies, I was introduced to the power of terpenes, and the world of essential oils opened up to me. As I continued to share my passion for essential oils with the community, a lot of doors opened up, and I was able to be in service to more people. I was sharing plants in a way that was novel, and folks were always enthusiastic about the types of formulations I was producing. Today, I am inspired by the positive feedback I receive about the essential oil products and tinctures bring into people's lives. Though subtle and powerful, we have essential oil formulations for everyone that can improve the quality of your life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is to have an offering that truly supports my community. The fact that I have formulations that are truly supportive of most people's day-to-day life and bring a positive impact on the lives of those around me. I'm grateful to support local job opportunities during these times is such a gift and a blessing. To be able to support others through the power of plant intelligence, I feel very grateful for the service I provide to the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the most challenging things about being a business owner is making sure to support your customers and clients by meeting supply and demand. Job opportunities continue to fluctuate at different times and seasons. As a business owner, continuing to provide consistent employment opportunities during fluctuations during changing times can be challenging. There's a responsibility to our clients and customers associated with the role of a lifestyle of service. We take into account the high quality of products we create, source, and share, and this responsibility can take some delicate navigating. These challenges are all rewarding because of the overall positive impact the essential oils have on the lives of our community.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Look into providing a service that is going to enhance the quality of life that you surround yourself with. Embody what you love to share.
- Make sure that whatever you start is something you are passionate about and is good for your local community and the planet.
- Find mentors in your field can save you a lot of time and energy with knowledge. Try shadowing with someone doing what you are interested in to learn, to grow, and save time. Learn what good leadership looks and feels like.
