Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Eric Savva, founder of Actions Speak Louder Fitness and Nutrition, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a personal training and group training with a nutritional consultation. My customers are a wide range of abilities and ages. I train all levels. I specialize in disability, therapeutic, athletic development, senior fitness, and youth fitness.

Tell us about yourself

I've always been conscientious about health and fitness. I decided to make it my profession 15 years ago. I can honestly say that I've given over 10 thousand hours towards personal training and group fitness instruction throughout those years. That's supposed to be mastery, but I'm still learning something new every single day, and I hope I always do. It's a privilege to work with my clients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is not making it feel like a business but creating a genuine relationship with my clients and actually enjoying the work.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Consistency in the service that I provide is important. Sometimes I need to meet the customer's available timing or hours, and that has to be my sacrifice to meet that service consistency.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You better enjoy what you'll do.
  2. Don't quit your day job yet.
  3. Don't quit.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

"If you want to live at a higher level, you have to move at a higher level."
